Fox Knew That The 2020 Election Wasn’t Stolen.
They Promoted The Lie Anyway.

Fox executives and hosts repeatedly acknowledged that the election fraud conspiracy theories were “reckless” and “crazy.”

Fox President Jay Wallace stated that

“[T]he North Koreans do a more nuanced show” than former host Lou Dobbs. [September 2020]

Two days after the election, Fox’s chief political anchor Bret Baier acknowledged privately,

“There is NO evidence of fraud. None.” [11/5/20]

But despite this, Fox promoted the Big Lie anyway.

Fox News and Fox Business hosted Giuliani and Powell at least 33 times in the weeks following the 2020 election to spread conspiracy theories and lies. Fox Corp. Chairman Rupert Murdoch said he “could have” stopped putting disgraced Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani on air, “But I didn’t.”

Fox News Aired Election Lies For Money

When Fox News called Arizona for Joe Biden, their viewers revolted and Fox went into overdrive to win them back. The truth about the election was viewed as a “brand threat,” so they elevated the lies to improve their ratings.

Fox Corp created a “Brand Protection Unit” headed by former Trump aide Raj Shah that was tasked with monitoring and mitigating criticism of Fox:

  • Shah warned the network that if they called the election in favor of Biden, “we’re going to get hit very hard by the right.”

  • Fox executives were carefully attuned to the brand polling Shah's team was doing in mid-November 2020, which showed "[p]ositive impressions of Fox News among our viewers dropped precipitously after Election Day to the lowest levels we’ve ever seen."

“Rupert Murdoch:

“I’m not about to” stop running election denier Mike Lindell’s advertisements. Lindell gets a platform on Fox because, Murdoch agreed, “It is not red or blue, it is green.

After Fox anchor Neil Cavuto cut away from a White House press conference advancing voter fraud lies,

“[T]he brand team led by Raj Shah at Fox Corporation notified senior Fox News and Fox Corporation leadership of the ‘Brand Threat’ posed by Cavuto’s action.”

Fox is a GOP propaganda outlet

The filing conclusively showed that Fox News is nothing but a GOP propaganda outlet. Fox hosts who told the truth about the election were attacked by their colleagues and reprimanded by Fox executives. Fox Corp. Chair Rupert Murdoch used his power to direct positive coverage of Republican candidates and was particularly interested in making sure the GOP took control of the Senate. Fox executives – including Lachlan and Rupert Murdoch – demanded pro-Trump coverage.

Tucker Carlson on a colleague who fact-checked Trump:

Please get her fired. Seriously…What the fuck? ... It’s measurably hurting the company. The stock price is down. Not a joke.”

Rupert Murdoch declared

Shep Smith’s criticism of “Trump administration ‘lies’” on air were “Over the top!” and his bosses “Need to chat to him.”

Rupert Murdoch provided Trump’s campaign with Fox’s confidential information about Biden ads and debate strategy, a potential violation of the law.

The lawsuit also uncovered: “During Trump’s campaign, Rupert provided Trump’s son-in-law and senior advisor, Jared Kushner, with Fox confidential information about Biden’s ads, along with debate strategy. … (providing Kushner a preview of Biden’s ads before they were public).”

Dominion Filings leave Fox vulnerable to further legal action

Legal experts agree that the Dominion filings have exposed Fox Corp. to “‘likely’ shareholder lawsuits, a possible SEC investigation into ‘deceptive practices of the board for conspiring to conceal known misconduct with material adverse impact,’” and more.

Fox Corp. Chief Legal and Policy Officer Viet Dinh, “the highest-ranking lawyer in the entire corporate structure,” admitted that

Fox executives have an obligation “to prevent and correct known falsehoods.”
